Jamavani stands for preferred genetics
Quality genetic material is the foundation of our breeding programme
When it comes to quality game breeding, at Jamavani we believe in only using animals with proven genetic lineage. We call this approach preferred genetics, because we believe in breeding with quality animals as preferred by the best breeders.
This approach means we are careful to select breeding stock from only excellent bloodlines.
Buffalo genetics from Kwanare, Thaba Tholo, Pymat and Cottondale
Our buffalo breeding project includes an East African herd, as well as a separate Kruger herd.
The impressive Jamavani East African breeding bull, Diephoring, originates from Kwanare, where he also was a breeding bull. Diephoring is a half-brother of 50″ Langbeen and a son of the famous Jack.
Diephoring walks with cows acquired from the well-known Pymat game breeding farm situated in the Rooibokkraal district of Limpopo, in the Thabazimbi bushveld. These cows originally came from Thaba Tholo. All had calves with them that were sired by 48½” Gnu, the Pymat breeding bull.
Our Kruger cows were bought from Frans Schutte’s Cottondale Game Ranch. The cows were acquired as three-in-one packages. The sire of the calves is 46″ Mopani, an impressive Cottondale breeding bull.
The Jamavani breeding bull walking with our Kruger cows is Abraham, an East African buffalo from Pymat, also from the Thaba Tholo gene pool.
